Lightspeed, a retail point of sale management software company, has partnered with Commonwealth Bank of Australia to bring its point-of-sale app to thousands more inventory-based retailers across the country.
This partnership will allow retailers to connect Commonwealth Bank's Albert payments tablet with Vend (now Lightspeed) on their iPad, Mac or PC to accept payments and make sales on-the-go. The payment data will automatically sync between the two platforms, eliminating manual errors.
Vend's Register app provides advanced retail tools such as inventory management, analytics and customer loyalty, which will be available to Albert users through this partnership.
Claire Roberts, CommBank's SME business banking executive general manager, said the partnership demonstrates the bank's commitment to providing leading-edge technology to its customers.
"Vend provides all the benefits of mobile payments combined with a point of sale that significantly improves the customer experience and how a retailer manages their business," she said.
With Vend on Albert, retailers can:

To access Vend via Commonwealth Bank, retailers will need to:
- Sign up for a Vend account. This can be done via the Growpay website.
- Purchase an Albert payments tablet from Commonwealth Bank. Albert tablets are available for purchase online or in-branch.
- Download the Vend Register app on their iPad, Mac or PC. The app is available for free from the App Store, Google Play and the Vend website.
- Pair their Albert tablet with the Vend Register app. This can be done by following the instructions in the Vend documentation.
Once the Albert tablet and Vend Register app are paired, retailers will be able to accept payments and make sales using the Albert tablet. The payment data will automatically sync between the two platforms, eliminating manual errors.
